Great portions, fast service and tasty! Love the kids area in the back.

Simple, tasty food. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas quesadillas and salads. Small at the best of times, no indoor seating due to Covid pandemic. Busy enough to make the place feel a bit cramped while waiting after ordering. Many order by phone ahead of time which is a good idea.Tables outside are still somewhat cramped and busy, so I recommend take out. A person wouldn't have to go very far to find a nice place to eat.El Taco is one of the more popular value restaurants in Nelson.

I like the concept but the menu options we chose were not great tasting, slightly bland and mushy.

Food was good. Service was ok. As far as menu was concerned there was only one item gluten free. Unusual for a Mexican place. Staff weren't overly approachable so didn't feel like asking to find out more.

Consistently great burritos / burrito bowls at a very reasonable price. Margs are big, slushy and awesome to have on a hot day on the patio.

Home of the 1lbs burrito. Delicious, affordable and the staff are super pleasant. When I don't feel like trying something new, this place is my go to. Awesome food. And as a plus they're super sensitive to allergies, dietary needs, vegetarian/vegan and bringing your own take away container.

Mexican cantina food, the burritos are big and delicious. Mexican beers available. Spicy Margherita was subtly spiced but very tasty, the rim salt was really good. Indoor and outdoor seating

EL TACO is have decent tacos. was hard to tell the difference between the vegetarian and turkey. the staff are very nice. clean

Phenomenal mexican place in Nelson. The atmosphere is unmatched, super friendly, and lots of locals to chat with. Adorable street side, covered patio, perfect stop before or after a ride.Their burritos are at the top of the local competition. 1.5 lbs of pure heaven, wraped in high quality dough.You leave here full, satisfied, and it doesnt break the bank. Highly affordable, especially for what you get.I cannot reccomend the turkey chorizo enough. Can choose how spicy you want it, and choose if you want hot sauce as a side.Taking a bite, had the same feeling as the first bite into a piece of pizza. Its so good, everytime.Ive been to El Taco a lot, and never regret it.If youre hungry, and want some good food. Call El Taco, and get a burrito, your stomac will be happy you did.Fantastic location too. Easy street side access, right off of Victoria. So you can get in, and get out, without having to brave the Nelson bottleneck.

The tacos we're delicious and they give you two shells and so much filling, it's basically two tacos for 4 bucks. The place is old and quirky, but the bathroom was clean, the staff were nice, and the food is yummy and super fast. Would recommend for a quick bite or grab and go.

100 % the best in town ..lost my wallet there and came back to have it returned to me by the staff ...as i got off my bike and approached tbe place a lady patron asked me if i lost my wallet ...NELSON AND ITS PEOPLE ROCK. good clean food and beautiful staff and patrons ..

I had the chicken burrito.. fast, friendly staff..average price for a burrito! Not alot of flavour very bland. Low fun factor!

Good amount of food for the price. They have a yummy vegan burrito. I would suggest they add a bit more flavour to it. Maybe some yam! Nice outdoor seating. It's a popular spot.

Just not very good. Like many others, I also found the staff to be impatient and unfriendly. Staff should be weary acting so arrogantly while serving such mediocre food. I imagine that the menu was created by an ex line cook that once had a burrito from chipotle and thought “I can make this”.

I’ve been getting burritos from El Taco for a number years and the quality has remained consistent! The food is bomb and the staff is always friendly!

If you're ever in Nelson, look this place up.. One the best burritos ive had in awhile. Filling while not sitting like a brick in my tummy. Decently priced and made fresh to order. Mmmmm.

Best place to go to for burritos for ever!! I can’t remember how many times I went there. Every time I went to Nelson, I checked in this restaurant. Always low price and fulfilling!! Yum, missing it so much.

It was such a good decision coming here, the food is so worth it. The decor makes you feel like your in a cute little restaurant in Mexico. The burritos were mentioned to me over in trail at work so they are well known. Only thing is the burritos are 1 lbs, so make sure your hungry. :) great place.

Really tasty!! Good service and not very expensive at all.

Good. But not a 5 star. I had the pictured bowl. Which seemed small compared to other reviews and the burritos I saw. Service was indifferent And didn't tell me the plate had a hidden compartment where corn tortillas were. I paid a 15% tip at order time only to find out I had to get my own meal and clean my own table up. Sauce selection was great.

GREAT QUANTITY. I mean I was stuffed with one burrito! Good comfort food. Nice margaritas served by smiling staff.Will be back forsure.

Best taco salad of my life

1st visit. Tasty and messy as a Taco should be. Nice Salsa selection too.

The atmosphere is lovely and the service is causal. I would be a returning customer if it weren't for the fact that the chips and guac served here are comparable to the kind you would expect at an arena canteen. The guac is a bland puree that I can only suspect comes from a frozen bag. Not to mention that the chips were served cold and stale. The price is right but at the cost of authentic Mexican taste.

The food was fantastic. It was served hot with plenty of flavor. The staff very very friendly and the place was clean. I would highly recommen this place as all 6 in or group enjoyed something different and delicious.

The staff members are very friendly, happy to assist any way they can. They take client safety personally, so even in these trying times I feel welcomed, safe, and genuinely enjoyed my experience. Food is great, and as someone who hates guac and avocado, they made a great addition to my burrito. From out of town, but, judging what myself and my company enjoyed today, will be back soon.

Food is very good. The staff weren't very friendly or nice for that matter. If you can ignore the not-so-great service, then the food is worth it.

I LOVE mexican food! after spending some time there when I was younger I was hooked. My personal favorite on the menu are their chicken enchiladas. 👍 So worth it

Best Burritos ever!

I really wanted to like this place, it is quaint with nice outdoor seating. The servers were not very friendly. The food was not real Mexican and questionable. You have to order, go outside, and pay attention for them to call your name. If you do not hear your name, check back inside. Be sure to try the various sauces, they do help the food.

Very cool place. Food is great and filling when you are hungry. A bit pricey for the food though.
